The river, 900 feet down

Most afternoons we drive guests to the put-in for a slow float through the canyon. In spring the water runs higher and a little faster, and the cottonwoods are just turning green.

When to come

Average daytime highs at camp. Nights run about thirty degrees cooler.

Spring

68°

March to May. Warm days, cold nights, mist in the canyon and the river at its best for floating.

Summer

88°

June to August. Hot middays, cool nights at 6,800 feet and storms that roll through in the late afternoon.

Fall

72°

September to November. Our favorite season: gold cottonwoods, warm days and the clearest skies of the year.

Winter

Closed

December to February. The camp rests. We open a few weekends for stargazers who do not mind the cold.

Add an experience to your stay

Open March to November. Two nights minimum on weekends, and we keep a few tents back for last minute trips.
